Chennai, December 14, 2023: In the wake of the devastating cyclonic storm Michaung that lashed Chennai, causing major flooding and significant damage to the city and its outskirts, Sterlite Copper, has swiftly taken action to aid the affected communities.

Committed to its mission of Transforming the Community for good, Sterlite Copper mobilised its resources to support the victims of Cyclone Michaung. Dedicated teams were deployed to the severely affected areas of Kargil Nagar, Thiruvottiyur and Athipattu Pudunagar. These teams worked tirelessly to provide crucial flood relief materials to those in need.

The support efforts, valued at ₹1 crore, included essentials such food supplies, clean drinking water, blankets, and hygiene kits, and other essentials necessary for the well-being of those affected by the calamity to ensure timely and effective assistance to those in need.

Sterlite Copper’s relief camp in the aforementioned areas, successfully reached out to over 4000 victims. The primary focus was on ensuring that the most vulnerable sections of the community, including children, elderly individuals, and those with special needs, received the support they required during this challenging time.
