Thoothukudi, July 09, 2015: Sterlite Copper, a unit of Vedanta Limited distributed free spectacles to the truck drivers of Thoothukudi and surrounding areas today.

Sterlite Copper in association with Dr. Agarwal Eye Hospital, Thoothukudi conducted a special eye camp on 02.06.2015 at Sterlite Copper’s Truck Parking Yard for the truck drivers of Thoothukudi and surrounding areas. 400 truck drivers participated and tested their eyes in the camp, in which 50 truck drivers were identified as having problem in their eye vision.

Mr M Kumaravendhan, HSE Head of Sterlite Copper emphasized the importance of health and said that one should be very proactive in taking care of it. Dr R Kailasam, Chief Medical Officer of Sterlite Copper said that man is more important than the machine he drives and so it’s important that he takes good care of it.

Sterlite Copper Officials Mr M Kumaravendhan, Head – HSE and Dr R Kailasam, Chief Medical officer and Head – CSR distributed free spectacles to the truck drivers at Sterlite Copper’s premises today. Mr N Hariharan, Head – Logistics and other Sterlite Copper officials were also present in this function.
