Thoothukudi, March 10, 2018: As a part of Sterlite Copper’s initiatives towards ensuring continuous drinking water for its neighbouring communities, the company handed over a demand draft of Rs.47 lakh rupees to community leaders of Milavittan village, situated a few kilometres from the company’s operations in Thoothukudi. This amount will be deposited with Thoothukudi Corporation to get the water connection from its fourth pipeline connection scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. C. Murugeswaran, Head – Projects & PR, shared “As a responsible corporate, Vedanta, Sterlite Copper is focused on ensuring an improved standard of living for people near by its villages, people should not be confined by the allegations made by few vested interested people and should utilize the opportunities for their development” he added.
On behalf of the village Mr. Sudhakar, Mr. R. Sekar, Mr. V. Govindan and Mr. Patturaj received payment from Mr. C. Murugeswaran, Head Projects & PR and Mr. D. Dhanavel, Head Commercial & HSE, Sterlite Copper.
