• STERLITE COPPER RECOGNISED FOR EXCELLENCE IN CSR

Thoothukudi, August 12: Sterlite Copper Bags ASSOCHAM and Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Silver Trophy on Skilling India, for promotion of Livelihood through CSR program –TAMIRA MUTHUKKAL, during the award ceremony organized on 09th of August 2017 at Hotel Lalit, New Delhi.

This Award honors and recognizes the organizations in private sector, NGOS, and government departments who have demonstrated their commitment to the advancement of skills by implementing skill development and training programs that are relevant and result oriented. Theme of the summit is ‘from skills to prosperity’

Nearly 126 companies and organizations have participated in 17 different categories focusing skill development and innovation for Gold and Silver category. Tamira Muthukkal – Vocational training center cum livelihood project, of Sterlite copper in partnership with IL&FS is providing skill training in six trades like Tally cum Data Entry Operator, Electrician, Sewing Machine Operations, Welding, Fork Lift Operator and Solar Technician participated under the category of “Best Higher Vocational Institute for skill development”.

This activity has won the Silver award. This project initiated from 2014 onwards with vision of employment to the skilled youth. We have trained more than 1000 youth and 70.40% trained youth were facilitated to have employment.

Shri.Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Hon’ble Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, presented the Awards. Dr.Kailasam, Chief Medical Officer &Head – CSR received the ‘Silver trophy’ on behalf of Sterlite Copper, in presence of other dignitaries Mr.Sandip Jaiodia President- ASSOCHAM, Prof.S.Parasuraman, Director-Tata Institute of Social Science, Prof.Dr. Balvir. S.Tomar, Chancellor-NIMS, University, Shri.D. Manishkumar MD&CEO-National Skill Development, Mr.Krishnakunal,IAS,Managing Director-Rajastan Skills and Livelihoods Development Corporation, Ministry of Skill development and entrepreneurship-GOI, Mr.KP.Krishnan IAS, secretary, Ministry of Skill development and entrepreneurship-GOI, Mr.D.S.Rawat, Secertary -ASSOCHAM and Padma Shri.
