Sterlite Copper Organizes Stecofest 2016

Thoothukudi, March 14: The fourth edition of Stecofest, a Sterlite Copper Inter-Collegiate Cultural Competition for College Students of Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari Districts was conducted on 12.03.2016 at VOC College, Thoothukudi.

The event was inaugurated by Mr D Dhanavel, Head – Commercial, Asset Optimization & Sustaining Projects, Sterlite Copper in the presence of Dr C Veerabagu, Principal, VOC College and Dr R Kailasam, Chief Medical Officer & Head – CSR, Sterlite Copper.

810 Students from 30 Colleges participated in various competitions namely Adzap, Rangoli, Poster Collage, Quiz, Skit, Team Dance (Western & Folk), Elocution, Solo Performance, Fashion Show & Photography. Stecofest provides a quality platform for college students to exhibit their innate skill and talent through cultural programs.

APC Women’s College, Thoothukudi bagged the championship while Madurai Diraviyam Thayumanavar (MDT) Hindu College, Tirunelveli secured the second place. The champion and runner were presented a cash prize of Rs 40,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively along with a trophy and certificates

Mr Karu Palaniappan, Movie Director & Motivational Speaker was the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony. Mr C Murugeswaran, Business Head – Power & Acids, Sterlite Copper proffered presidential address and Capt. Sonica Muraleedharan, Head – HR, Sterlite Copper made special address on this occasion in the presence of Mr APCV Chockalingam, Honorary Secretary, VOC Education Society.
